Moreover, I think that the dictionary would be the item that I would use the most in my future class because I plan on becoming an English teacher and English requires a lot of writing. It is my first time ever using blogs, I think that it is a great means of communication because, it allowed me to interact with other students in the class and it also, allowed the teacher to interact with the students, as well. In addition, I think that one of the down falls of blogging is that some people like me, do not have access to a computer at home. Also, the computer system does not always work properly. You can check your e-mail and browse the web on this creative technology. However, the iphone has many unique features such as visual voice mail, web browser displays, and a touch screen. Moreover, the visual voice mail lets you view all the voice messages on the screen;instead of, calling to listen to each message one by one. Next, the web browser let you view the entire web page on one screen, which most phones do not have the ability to perform.Most importantly, the iphone has a unique touch screen that is made for the touch of the fingers to operate. The iphone contains an keyboard for inputing text with the fingers. The iphone includes automatic spell checking, and a dictionary that is prepared to learn new words.
I think that the iphone is a very useful tool;even though, it is pretty expensive. I think that it can be utilized by teachers and students. For example, a student that is taking an on-line class could use the iphone to view their assignments on the web, if they are away from home or on their lunch break at work. Also, teachers could view their students work assignments when they are away from their personal computers with the iphone, which is more convenient to carry around. As you can see it is a piece of technology that can be used and should be used all over the world.

The Use of Spreadsheets in Classrooms

During research, I found a school that uses spreadsheets in their classroom lessons. Moreover, the school is named Pattie Elementary School. The teacher teaches the class how to enter data in Microsoft Excel;while, in lab. The class enter data in Excel based on Civil War battles. However, the teacher reads the different battles to the students and they enter it into the computer. The students make bar graphs by utilizing the mouse by dragging the mouse over the data and clicking on the wizard of graphing.

Next, the students uses the auto sum feature to tell the teacher the total number of battles that occurred. Then, the students make a Pie chart with the information by putting in the percentages for the different Civil War battles. Consequently, I thought that this assignment that was given to the students was great because it made learning about history fun.

To learn more about the use of spreadsheets in a classroom click on the link below:
CLICK HERE

The Use of iPODS in the Classrooms

Portable media players or iPods can be used to transfer photos, and download videos or games. However, during research I found a university that actually uses the ipod in the classroom. Moreover, Duke University issued ipods to their students to encourage them to use this technology to enhance their education. For example, one class at Duke University used the ipod to assist with a Spanish class. In addition, one student recorded his Spanish conversation with another student and became more affluent in speaking Spanish.
Furthermore, students at Duke University also, used the ipod in their Economics class. The teacher recorded her own lectures on an ipod; which, the students could assess by the computer or their own, personal ipods. Some students listened to the recorded lectures before they took their exams. Consequently, this method helped students alot with studying. I think that the use of ipods in classrooms is a very good idea. I really think that all colleges should issue out ipods. Moreover, Mr.Papert has worked with Jean Piaget, who assisted him in learning ways that mathematics could be used to help children learn; as well as,think. He also, has wrote many books pertaining to education and children. In addition, he has written articles about mathematics and artificial intelligence.
Furthermore, he is the founder of the Learning Barn, which is a small lab that, he use to plan ways for learning in the future. The University of Maine honored him as being a distinguished professor. He earned this name by working on the Maine Learning Technology Initiative, which is a program that provided middle school students of Maine with a computer. He is a member of the MIT Media Lab, which he is currently, still a part of. Mr. Papert has accomplished a lot throughout his life.
Most importantly, he never gave up on his ideas, and he still continues to work on other projects for the future to further enhance learning. It is an English class made up of 5th and 6th graders. The blog covers materials that the students and teacher did in class. One, of the ideas that I found touching was the idea of the class singing happy birthday to a student. The blog have an icon that you can click on to listen to the students sing the birthday song. Also, the blog have a get well soon card on it that is for the one of the students in the class. It was made for the student because the student was due to have surgery. I like this blog because it shows the students reaching out to other students. It is a good example of teamwork within a classroom. The teacher had a very good relationship with her students which, is very important in an teaching environment.

You can view this link by clicking on the icon below:
CLICK HERE

Blogging in Internationl Schools (part 1)

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_bQCeyAHe_3o/RnqwalEgmfI/AAAAAAAAAAc/eOZu4Jl6f4E/s200/newzealand.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5078565500487768562" />
Here we go again, I found a school in Nelson, New Zealand instructed by Rachel Boyd.
The class is made up of six and seven year-olds at Nelson Central School in Room 9.
This blog contains the students ideas such as how to interview people. This gives them an idea of how to ask questions. They also, have games that you can play like, matching. Consequently, they have a discussion on their blog that includes them comparing and contrasting the differences and similarities between their class and Room 18. Furthermore, I loved the picture of the dog with the bone on their website.
The dog keeps count on the number of people, who views the blog. Mrs. Boyd also, has a video that you can watch. This video explains the importance of blogging in the classroom. This blog was an enhancing way of learning on the blog to me because it provides so many different ideas for students to use.

You can view this link by clicking on the icon below:
CLICK HERE

Blogging in a United States School (part 2)

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_bQCeyAHe_3o/RnqjHFEgmeI/AAAAAAAAAAU/BWgfCe8sKAc/s200/butterfly.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5078550871829158370" />
Moreover, I found another school in the U.S. that use blogging. The Program gives high school students in Alabama the opportunity to take Advanced Placement electives such as Foreign Lanuages, and Mathematics. Also, the students have the opportunity to sign up for courses that are not offered at their school, by taking the course online. This program provides teachers with the technology that they will need to enhance their lessons, that they give to their students.
Furthermore, the ACCESS Distance Learning Program also, provide different resources for the teachers as well. Consequently, this program provides a teacher brochure, which explains the steps of becoming an ACCESS teacher, and the benefits of becoming an ACCESS teacher. Next, the program provides teachers with videoconferencing events; for example, teachers can virtually participate in field trips. Moreover, I believe that this is a very educational program that should be used by teachers and students all over Alabama.

Benefits of Using the Alabama Learning Exchange

The Alabama Learning Exchange can also, be referred to as ALEX. It is a web portal designed to enhance education. I could use this program to create or store my lesson plans for my class. Next, I could research different courses of study such as math, language arts, and science. Furthermore, I could search under Professional Learning to find out information about grant opportunities for my students.

Consequently, I could benefit from this program by using the teacher weblink to receive ideas about future projects and I could collaborate on my personal projects as well. Also, I could find out information about how to join professional organizations within the school system such as the Alabama Council for Social Studies. Last but not least, the Alabama Learning Exchange is a very valuable tool for teachers to utilize to the best of their abilities. It is truly a program that I would recommend to all teachers around the world!

Hello!

Welcome, to my blog.
