Things that I have learned in my EDM310 class

Hi, I really enjoyed this class. I learned a whole lot of interesting things, while taking this class. Moreover, a list of the things that I learned in my EDM310 class are as follows:
-How to create, post, add a link, and add a picture to my blog.
-How to create a PowerPoint in Microsoft PowerPoint.
-How to create a spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel.
-How to create my own website.
-How to add gadgets to my igoogle page.
-How to write a document in Microsoft Word.
-How to make a brochure in Microsoft Word.
In addition, all the things that I learned will help me in the future.
Goodbye, everyone.

igoogle

I think that igoogle is very interesting, it was a very creative assignment to work on. However, it was my first time working with igoogle. In addition, I added five things to my igoogle home page that I think would be useful to my future students in my classroom. The five gadgets that I added to my igoogle home page are as follows: a dictionary, the translator, the calculator, the weather forecast, and my notebook. Moreover, I think that the dictionary would be the item that I would use the most in my future class because I plan on becoming an English teacher and English requires a lot of writing. The dictionary would be a very helpful tool for me and my future students, when we have to look up the meaning of words. Consequently, I think igoogle would be a great tool to teach from.

My experience with the Blog

The blog has been very useful for me. It is my first time ever using blogs, I think that it is a great means of communication because, it allowed me to interact with other students in the class and it also, allowed the teacher to interact with the students, as well. In addition, I think that one of the down falls of blogging is that some people like me, do not have access to a computer at home. Also, the computer system does not always work properly. However, I would use blogging in a class in the future that I might teach to interact with the students in my class. I think it would be great to communicate with my students; not only, in the classroom, but on-line as well.

My website

Hello everyone, My website is about my future vacations that I plan to take one day. I would love to travel around the world to view lots of historical land markings in the U.S. and overseas. Hopefully, I could learn some useful information that I could use to teach my students one day. Furthermore, I am still making minor corrections to my website. However, I would add audio to all my web pages if, I had time, and I would also, add more pages to my website of other beautiful places around the world that I would love to visit. In addition, I would love for you to leave any questions or comments you may have and I will get back with you. Bye, for now.

Ideas about the iphone

The iphone has internet and multimedia capabilities. You can check your e-mail and browse the web on this creative technology. However, the iphone has many unique features such as visual voice mail, web browser displays, and a touch screen. Moreover, the visual voice mail lets you view all the voice messages on the screen;instead of, calling to listen to each message one by one. Next, the web browser let you view the entire web page on one screen, which most phones do not have the ability to perform. Most importantly, the iphone has a unique touch screen that is made for the touch of the fingers to operate. The iphone contains an keyboard for inputing text with the fingers. The iphone includes automatic spell checking, and a dictionary that is prepared to learn new words.
I think that the iphone is a very useful tool;even though, it is pretty expensive. I think that it can be utilized by teachers and students. For example, a student that is taking an on-line class could use the iphone to view their assignments on the web, if they are away from home or on their lunch break at work. Also, teachers could view their students work assignments when they are away from their personal computers with the iphone, which is more convenient to carry around. As you can see it is a piece of technology that can be used and should be used all over the world.

The Use of Spreadsheets in Classrooms

During research, I found a school that uses spreadsheets in their classroom lessons. Moreover, the school is named Pattie Elementary School. The teacher teaches the class how to enter data in Microsoft Excel;while, in lab. The class enter data in Excel based on Civil War battles. However, the teacher reads the different battles to the students and they enter it into the computer. The students make bar graphs by utilizing the mouse by dragging the mouse over the data and clicking on the wizard of graphing.

Next, the students uses the auto sum feature to tell the teacher the total number of battles that occurred. Then, the students make a Pie chart with the information by putting in the percentages for the different Civil War battles. Consequently, I thought that this assignment that was given to the students was great because it made learning about history fun.
